Chasing the Tumbleweed

Chasing_the_tumbleweedChasing the Tumbleweed is a short romantic suspense story written by Casey Dawes.

It is set in the Nevada desert and features Laurie, who is on her way to L.A., taking the back roads trying to figure out why her boyfriend dumped her. Laurie has the misfortune of noticing a bright red cooler at a rest stop in the middle of nowhere. Unfortunately, this brings her to the attention of bad guy Eli Crenshaw, a man experienced with both a knife and a gun.

Eli, who is all creepy, forces her to drive him to a remote location where he intends for them to camp…among other activities. Thank goodness for Laurie that she has a guardian angel who turns into her knight in almost shining armor! Forest Ranger Jeff Dawson is perceptive and not afraid to act. He manages to rescue Laurie only to have Eli snatch her once the felon pins the unlucky couple in an abandoned building in the ghost town of Grantsville.

The good guys don’t give up yet. With help from his other rangers, they soon locate and well… I can’t give away the rest of the story. Let’s just say, even though she is a young, single woman, Laurie is far from helpless.

A quick read that has you on the edge of your seat.
