Striking Distance

Striking_DistanceStriking Distance by Pamela Clare is the 6th installment in the I-Team series. This is a romantic suspense series; this story features reporter Laura Nilsson and Navy SEAL Javier Corbray.

Blurb from Amazon:

Her past is a secret—even to her.
Discovering it will be the most
dangerous move of her life.

TV reporter Laura Nilsson, known as the
“Baghdad Babe,” spent eighteen months in an Al-Qaeda compound after being  kidnapped live on the air. Two years later, she’s still wondering why.

No mission in Javier Corbray’s fourteen years as a Navy SEAL affected him the way
Laura’s rescue did. No woman had stirred his protective instincts the way she did. And he wants her more than he’s ever wanted anyone.

As Laura and Javier’s passion ignites, so does Laura’s need to discover the mystery of her past. Especially when she learns that her abduction was not random—and that
she’s still a target for a killer with an impenetrable motive. Now Javier will  have to rely on his skills to keep the woman he loves from being struck down  before she dares uncover the truth.

I’m a huge fan of the I-Team series. I love the characters, the complex plots, and the stories taken right from today’s news. Ms. Clare does an excellent job of research and always packs loads of emotion and action into her stories. Plus, she always includes her previous characters into her latest book – I enjoy reading about what the other I-Team members (and former members) and their families are doing.

Even though Javier was a hot mess of sexy protectiveness in this book, Julian Darcangelo (he’s featured in book #2 Hard Evidence) is still my favorite of Ms. Clare’s hottie alphas. In case you’re not familiar with the series, you want to start with Extreme Exposure, which introduces Kara and Reece.

I will continue with my trend of high ratings for this series: 4.5 out of 5 stars!
