Book-buying Binge

I finally made my way into a physical bookstore. It has been so long since I’ve purchased actual books and not ebooks – so long, in fact, that I couldn’t tell you when it was. It was very cool to be able to hold the book in my hand. I confess I reveled in the smell of the paper and in chatting with other book buyers about their current reads. Don’t really have much of that in an online store! Given the totality of the experience, I have to say I was overcome – my resistance was down. Hence, the large purchase. Although, my sales girl told me something very important (I thought it was clever and wished I would have come up with it): books never go bad (as in spoiling),City_of_Heavenly_Fire and they don’t expire. Whoo hoo!

Here’s the list:

Crave the Night by Lara Adrian. It is book twelve in the Midnight Breed Series.

Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn . I’d never heard of this one, but the sales woman and a customer recommended it as a ‘thinking’ book. We shall see . . . They also warned me that I will likely throw it across the room when I’m finished. Hmm . . .

Another hardback: City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Clare. This is the final installment of the Mortal Instruments series. This one is thick, too, over 700 pages!

Last, but not least: Born of Fury by Sherrilyn Kenyon. I lost track of which LeaCrave_the_Nightgue novel this is. This book isn’t anything to sneeze at either. It comes in at 678 pages. Wow!

It was a tough decision, but I started with the shortest read first – Crave the Night. I’m enjoying Nathan very much. How can you not enjoy the Breed males? It is kind of weird. I got hooked on the early books. The newer books feature the children of the original characters. Has a different feel with where the Order has gone, but still great writing!

I confess that I planned for this post to be longer, but I’ve been having internet issues. The tech support guy informed me that my router is old – as in dog years old. I’ve got my fingers crossed that it will last a bit longer. I hadn’t planned on buying a new one anytime soon. Guess it will get moved to the top of the list.

Since time is precious, I’m off to read! Stay tuned for updates and reviews.
