Yay! It’s release day for Avery’s short story, Fall Break Fright. Let me give you all the details…

Title:  Fall Break Fright

Author:  Avery Dawes

Genre: M-M Romance with some zombie action

Length:  12K words (short story)

Recommended age: 18+ due to some spicy m-m action

Blurb:

Carson Davis can’t go home…

His aunt is his only relative in the world, and she’s made it clear she doesn’t want him there during his fall break. Looks like he’s stuck at the college, alone and heart-broken. But Carson hasn’t figured on his new roommate, Tyler Owen, who’s extremely hot and unfortunately straight.

Or is he?

Tyler unexpectedly invites Carson to go with him to his family’s home in Kansas. Not only that, but Carson’s gaydar must be off, ‘cause Tyler is not only gay, he’s into Carson! However, things go horribly wrong once they reach Kansas. Not with them, but with the unexpected appearance of…

Zombies?

The world seems to have gone mad, and now it’s Carson and Tyler against the walking dead. They have to survive these creatures so they can enjoy their happily ever after.

Excerpt (NSFW-ish):

“What the hell, Tyler?” Carson gasped. He struggled to catch his breath while kneeling behind a large stately oak tree. He forced himself to slow his breathing. “When you invited me home for fall break, I never expected to be on the run for my life!”

Tyler fired back, “How was I supposed to know my normally sleepy hometown had been invaded by zombies?” Gently wiping a spot of blood from Carson’s forehead he added, “Besides, where else could you find this kind of excitement?” He’d propped himself behind the same tree, his posture more relaxed than Carson’s.

And didn’t that position trigger memories of the last time they had sex. Tyler had been sprawled casually on top of the bed sheets, sweat glistening on his pecs, his nipples swollen from the little bites Carson had given him. Come to think of it, their relationship had started slowly after that awful phone call with the Wicked Witch, but it didn’t take long for them to catch fire. Their bodies fit together perfectly, and Carson found that he liked when Tyler gave him orders. Carson’s body was never so sore—the good kind of sore, of course—and never had he slept better.
