In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Trains, Planes, and Automobiles.”
You’re going on a cross-country trip. Airplane, train, bus, or car? (Or something else entirely — bike? Hot air balloon?)
This one’s an easy one: bicycle. I really enjoy cycling, not only for the exercise but for all that you get to see. The sights, sounds, and scents are so much more pronounced when on a bike. In a car, it’s easy to miss little things. Besides, I enjoy photography. I’m sure I would be stopping a lot to take pictures along the way! There’s no time limit for this trip, right?
I’m also a huge fan of back roads and national parks. My route may end up being convoluted so I could take advantage of the sights and avoid the busier highways and byways…don’t want to end up as someone’s hood ornament!
Also, one point of clarification…I would want a sag wagon to accompany me, in case of a mechanical issue, severe weather event, or just a sore bum. It would be nice to have some place to take shelter and rest (and some place to carry my extra gear).
What would be your preferred method of travel?
