Jane Yellowrock Series

I’m back to reading. I had taken a break to watch sketching videos to try and improve. Plus, I got to the point that I didn’t know what I wanted to read. Nothing sounded good.

I’ve gotten back to reading Urban Fantasy. I especially like stories set in New Orleans. I’ve never visited there, but the city seems to fit the genre rather well.

Lately I’ve been reading Faith Hunter’s Jane Yellowrock series. I just finished book 10, Shadow Rites. I’m hoping to start Cold Reign tonight. Right now, there is one more book in the series. I’m hoping it doesn’t end there.

I’ve always like Jane for her fearlessness, her desire to do anything to protect those whom she loves, and her snark/wit.I went through a spell where I was frustrated with Jane. She had a couple of love interests in her life, and I wanted her to quit messing around and pick one. There was the Master of the City, Leo, and his primo George (aka Bruiser), and finally Ricky, local law enforcement. She also flirted shamelessly with the twins and even she and Eli would flirt from time to time.

I don’t want to spoil anything if you aren’t as far along in the series as I am. I will say that I approve of her choice, and Ms. Hunter handled it well.

Jane’s a complicated girl, given her history and physical makeup. She’s faced all kinds of vampires, witches, and werewolves and always manages to come out on top. In fact, a lot changed for Jane in this last book. She now has her own Clan. I think she’s grown into the position, and her friends and family will mesh with her perfectly. Even if she needs a bigger house!

If you are looking for a long (as in number of books) urban fantasy series, check out Jane Yellowrock. If you like all kinds of creatures, weapons, and leather clothing, this will be your cup of tea! And, yes, Jane does like her tea!!

Don’t forget the bacon either! *wink*

For more information on the series, feel free to drop by Ms. Hunter’s Author Site.
