I wanted to share a #teaser from Avery’s upcoming release. It is one of several stories in Apple Bites, a Back-to-School romance anthology that will be released the end of August.
Perry’s Cherry is an M-M Romance with some heat! The stories in the anthology were limited to 3K words, and Perry’s Cherry comes in right under that limit.
Here’s the blurb:
As Perry Anderson prepares for his freshman year of college, word reaches him that an earthquake has rendered his dorm unlivable. Alternate arrangements have been made, and Perry finds himself sharing a room with senior Nick Freeland. Perry can’t help but think he’s going to cramp the senior’s style, if not ruin his reputation.
Nick is grumpy at Perry’s unwelcome intrusion. But Perry finds himself attracted to the sullen senior. Labor Day arrives, and neither guy has plans other than to stay on campus… until Nick suggests a trip to a private club called Marchello’s. Continue reading “#TeaserTuesday from Perry’s Cherry”→
Phillip Jorgensen tried to live the straight life and ended up divorced. But he wouldn’t trade his two kids, Jacob and Samantha, for the world. His ex-wife has kidnapped them and he’s been searching for them for six long years. But he’s not giving up—never, not for anything. His twin brother has encouraged him to start living again, but how is he going to find romance with all his baggage?
When he meets Vance Pierce at the new gym, Phillip sees a chance to find some happiness.
Phillip has to explain the whole sordid mess to Vance and pray that he understands that he’ll never stop looking for his children. That’s easier said than done. Telling Vance might be risky. Is their connection strong enough to convince Vance to stay? Or will he think that Phillip is too damaged to love? This is Phillip’s chance at the life he never thought he could have. But is it possible?
He was debating the merits of getting back in his truck and driving home when a movement drew his gaze. Phillip watched as a good-looking blond emerged from the doorway he assumed led to the locker room.
He looked his fill. He wasn’t quite sure if he was in the market, but even if he were, he wouldn’t approach the guy. His limited experience with men had shown him most guys who had a body that defined were more interested in looks than personality. If he ever settled down, he wanted someone who could hold a conversation—not just someone who looked good. Phillip cringed. He’d just judged the guy based solely on his looks. For all he knew, the guy was a professor or something similar. Just because someone looked good didn’t mean that was all there was to them. He knew better than that. A hand landing on his shoulder pulled him away from his self-recrimination and back to the present. Continue reading “New Release: No More Hiding”→
Miller Fenwick wants the kind of happy ending his best friend got, with the hunky werewolf of his dreams. Trouble is, there doesn’t seem to be a Prince Charming on the horizon, and casual encounters don’t cut it anymore. Now that Alexx and Raoul are engaged, Miller is becoming resigned to being the bridesmaid, never the bride. But a chance encounter with a sexy stranger at Charisma has his hopes soaring, and his heart is wide open to possibilities.
Holt Wynne is the head of Helios, the largest vampire organization in the country. He’s a very influential and wealthy man, with a deep-seated hatred of werewolves. His running into Miller at Charisma isn’t entirely accidental. He’d meant to wait, but his emotions got the better of him, and he couldn’t stay away. And now see what he’s done…
Wait until Miller finds out he’s sortof just gotten married to the sexy vampire who hates the people who are Miller’s best friends. Sparks are gonna fly—and not just in the bedroom. One thing for sure—life in Crescent Bay is never dull!
Miller forced himself to take a breath, unaware until he did that he’d stopped breathing.
Quit being ridiculous. Wine going to your head already?
Are you ready for more Will and Foster?? I sure hope so! Now that Foster’s no longer lost at sea, we’ve got to find out if any sparks fly between the two guys.
Avery used three prompts (some in a small way) in this post:
A cat purring
Including a pirate
Including a shower
I hope you enjoy this installment of the story! Feel free to leave me a comment or two about the guys!
Shipwreck, Part II
Foster kept his mouth shut, worried he was placing a strain on his rescuer’s bad leg. There had to be a story to go with those scars, but Foster wasn’t in a position to ask what it was. Maybe after he knew the guy more than a couple of minutes. Knowing his luck, he’d open his mouth and his brain would derail. He’d end up asking something completely inappropriate…like, “please let me kiss your scars and make them all better.”
Will’s deep voice pulled him from his too-close-to wicked thoughts. “So, pick your poison, sailor. Would you like some breakfast first, or a hot shower?” Will held the door to the bungalow open, and then guided Foster to the kitchen island before helping him to sit on one of the barstools. This Tuesday’s topic is a good one: the Top Ten Books I’d Love To See As Movies/TV Shows. This will require some thought, though. Also, I’m going to go through my Goodreads list and try to half that would work as movies and have that would work as a TV series.
Thanks to The Broke and the Bookish for hosting this feature. *claps hands* You can check out their site here.
What do you think of my list? Agree/ disagree? Some that I missed?
Drum roll, please…..
1. Break Out (Blood Hunter #1) by Nina Croft. Vampires in space. Woot woot! Plus, I want to see the sexy Ricardo Sanchez in person.
2. Collide by Riley Hart. This is a gay-for-you M-M Romance. Would love to see Noah and Cooper’s story on the big screen.
3. Polar Reaction by Claire Thompson. Three hot guys trying to stay entertained while stuck in Antarctica. Yeah, I’d like to see that movie!!
4. Deathless Love by Renee Rose. Vampires and spanking all in one. Perfect for a movie!!
Avery finally found the time to write a piece of flash fiction. This one was based on a boat prompt (see the below pic). Remember, the Wednesday Briefers have to keep their stories between 500 and 1000 words.
Hopefully you’re ready to meet Will and his “fresh catch.” Enjoy the read!
Despite the throbbing in his leg, Will shambled down to the shore, a towel slung over his left shoulder, a cup of coffee gripped in his right hand. His newly constructed bungalow had weathered last night’s wicked storms well, taking the abuse of high winds and torrential rain with all the ease of a conditioned submissive—bowed, but not broken.
Will dried off the Adirondack chair and slid into the seat, sipping his steaming cup of java. A thin layer of fog shrouded the bay, muffling everything but the sound of the water lapping against the shore. He’d only lived on Maryland’s Eastern Shore for two months, but this had been the most peaceful time of his life. He kept waiting to miss the camaraderie of his SEAL Team brothers, but after his last tour in the sandbox, he’d had enough. The medical discharge only cemented the fact his military career was over. Nothing like having a semi-bionic leg. Grateful the doctors had saved his limb, he now wondered if having a prosthetic would be less painful than having one filled with an assortment of titanium plates and rods. I’m so behind on my blogging and on book reviews. I’m going to share some of my recent reads and ratings. Sorry, there won’t be too much of a review. Maybe one of these days I will get caught up!
Hell & High Water (THIRDS #1) by Charlie Cochet.
When homicide detective Dexter J. Daley’s testimony helps send his partner away for murder, the consequences—and the media frenzy—aren’t far behind. He soon finds himself sans boyfriend, sans friends, and, after an unpleasant encounter in a parking garage after the trial, he’s lucky he doesn’t find himself sans teeth. Dex fears he’ll get transferred from the Human Police Force’s Sixth Precinct, or worse, get dismissed. Instead, his adoptive father—a sergeant at the Therian-Human Intelligence Recon Defense Squadron otherwise known as the THIRDS—pulls a few strings, and Dex gets recruited as a Defense Agent.
Dex is determined to get his life back on track and eager to get started in his new job. But his first meeting with Team Leader Sloane Brodie, who also happens to be his new jaguar Therian partner, turns disastrous. When the team is called to investigate the murders of three HumaniTherian activists, it soon becomes clear to Dex that getting his partner and the rest of the tightknit team to accept him will be a lot harder than catching the killer—and every bit as dangerous.Continue reading “Recent M-M Romance Reads”→
