Urban Fantasy Reads

Lately, I’ve been on an Urban Fantasy kick. I finished the last book in the Chicagoland The_SightVampires series (Blade Bound) and have been looking for another good series to read.

A fellow blogger recommended Chloe Neill’s other series, Devil’s Isle. It is only 2 books so far, and I read both of them in no time (The Veil and The Sight). Book #3 is due out this fall. After the ending of The Sight, I can’t wait to start the third book.  If you need more info on Ms. Neill, check out her website here.

Now, I’m back to what to read??

Some series that I’ve started/read in the UF genre:

  1. The Fever series by Karen Marie Moning. I’ve read the first couple of books, but then quit reading due to a loss of interest (I made it through book #4).
  2. I’m a huge Kate Daniels fan so I’ve read that series. It’s written by Ilona Andrews. Kate and His Furriness–Curran–always have me laughing. Magic_Binds
  3. I’m also a huge Mercy Thompson fan. I’ve kept up with that series as well. Those are written by Patricia Briggs. Mercy is kick-ass!
  4. I tried to get into The Dresden Files, but for some reason, I couldn’t do it. I think it’s because there wasn’t even a hint of romance.

Next steps . . . I’m looking for recommendations. Please help!

I’ve downloaded the first book in both the Elemental Assassin series and The Hollows. I haven’t had a chance to start either one yet. Are there other UF series I should be considering? It doesn’t have to be strictly vampire or shifter, and I would like a bit of romance (it can develop over several books). Am I being too picky??

Please leave a comment and help a fellow reader out! Thanks *hugs

Top Ten Tuesday Characters

Today’s theme from The Broke and The Bookish is (can I get a drum roll, please??)…

toptentuesday

A list of the Top Ten Characters You’d Like To Check In With (meaning, the book or series is over and you so just wish you could peek in on the “life” you imagine they are leading years down the line after the story ends).

Once you’re done checking out my list, head over to their site so you can hop around everyone’s characters.

Let’s get started on my top ten (or as many as I can think of!):

1. Prophet and Tom from S.E. Jakes’ Hell or High Water series. Talk about 2 freaking hot guys. Wow! Continue reading “Top Ten Tuesday Characters”
